S.H. Hong Taekwondo Academy offers Taekwondo classes, including Tiny Tigers Taekwondo classes, Big Kids’ Taekwondo classes, and Teens/Adult Taekwondo classes. The program also includes a Combat Class and a Wrestling Program, and uses a hybrid Taekwondo style that keeps the legacy of Taekwondo while adapting its practice. Classes include a combative style that focuses on true self-defense and cardio-based training, with options such as advanced self-defense tactics, cardio health, takedowns, submissions, elbow and knee strikes, joint manipulation, and a Wrestling Program for athletes of all ages and experience levels, with opportunities for both boys and girls to train and compete.

Tiny Tigers Taekwondo classes are for ages 4–7, Big Kids’ Taekwondo classes are for ages 5–12, and Teens/Adult Taekwondo classes are for ages 13 and up. The academy offers two free trial Taekwondo classes. The program emphasizes the Five Pillars of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit, and places emphasis on building confidence, self-discipline, and a positive team culture.

Grandmaster Soon Ho Hong founded S.H. Hong Taekwondo Academy in 1991, and Ramon Gomez Sr. took over in 2024. The leadership team includes Grandmaster Soon Ho Hong (founder), Ramon Gomez Sr. (Owner and Head Instructor), Justine Gervacio (Sah Bum Nim), and several Junior Instructors: Ramon Gomez III, Esmeralda Ortiz, Jesus Nuno Vera, Efren Hernandez, Aaron Hernandez, and John Pancho. The current owner, Ramon Gomez, began training with Grandmaster at 12 years old after beginning Karate at 5, and has experience in other martial arts such as kickboxing, and each instructor has practiced martial arts since childhood. The academy describes itself as a family-friendly Dojang that focuses on Korean martial arts and uses a hybrid Taekwondo style to adapt while respectfully keeping the legacy of Taekwondo intact.

The mission statement explains that the goal for students is to become black belts, with a focus on the mental side through the Five Pillars of Taekwondo to build mental fortitude and face personal challenges, and that everything done on the mat and beyond is for students and the community to thrive at S.H. Hong Taekwondo Academy. The academy has been voted Best Martial Arts School of 2025 and 2026 by the local community, with back-to-back recognition as Best Martial Arts School of 2025 and 2026. It is described as a community built on respect, growth, and giving back, and it organizes events such as bringing a friend to class day, bringing a parent to class day, celebrating honor roll students, and holiday events, as well as a holiday toy giveaway organized with other local businesses to bring joy to families in need and uplift those around them.

Parent testimonials describe ethics, responsibility, and individual attention with every child, and note that one child has become more confident. Other parents state that their boys are more confident, have developed goals, and look forward to coming every day, and that training is very good and helps kids physically and mentally, with instructors who are very nice to everyone.
