4Cs Preschools

4Cs Preschools are part of 4Cs Sonoma County (Community Child Care Council). The program is connected to a larger network of child care and early education services that include preschools, financial assistance for child care, and support for child care providers.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with some services available by appointment outside regular hours

4Cs (Community Child Care Council) has been working since 1972. Its mission is to provide access to quality child care and early education in Sonoma County through advocacy, direct service, and empowerment. The organization is described as a local 501c3 nonprofit.

The Resource & Referral department helps families find and pay for care, creates opportunities for advocacy, and links families with other community resources. This department also engages providers in quality training and assists with the licensing process. The Early Care and Education Services team manages all 4Cs subsidized child care programs funded by the State Department of Education, including the 4Cs Preschools and the 4Cs Parental Choice Alternative Payment Program (APP) or Voucher Program (VP).

4Cs is a sponsor for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties. It provides nutrition guidance through in-home visits and training, and reimburses licensed child care providers who serve meals and snacks to children in their care. In reported figures, 630 children attended a 4Cs preschool, 2,043 children were served nutritious meals while in care, 3,626 children received financial assistance for child care, and there were 17,552 Resource & Referral contacts.

4Cs Sonoma County is described as a hub of connection, training, and opportunity for families, care providers, and the community at large, with community partners listed in its materials.
