4Cs (Community Child Care Council) has been working since 1972. Its stated mission is to provide access to quality child care and early education in Sonoma County through advocacy, direct service, and empowerment. 4Cs is a local 501c3 nonprofit and is described as a vital resource and navigation hub for families, care providers, and the community at large. It works with community partners and serves as the sponsor for the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa counties. Through this role, it provides nutrition guidance through in-home visits and training and reimburses licensed child care providers who serve meals and snacks to children in their care. The Resource & Referral department helps families find and pay for care, creates opportunities for advocacy, links families with other community resources, engages providers in quality training, and assists with the licensing process. The Early Care and Education Services team manages all 4Cs subsidized child care programs, including 4Cs Preschools and the 4Cs Parental Choice Alternative Payment Program (APP) or Voucher Program (VP).
A 4Cs Preschool parent, Angella Salhuana, described the program as “Amazing, Great care! Great facilities! Amazing support for working/ Training parents. The teachers and providers here really care about making your child comfortable and welcomed! Thank you so much 4Cs!”
