Bright Star Preschool is a privately owned center program for toddlers and children aged from 18 months to 5 years old, with programs by age that include gentle care for kids, structured play for toddlers, and school readiness activities for preschoolers. Classrooms are described as warm, welcoming, and secure, with age-appropriate resources, constant supervision, and a safe, engaging, vibrant learning environment that includes a secure and comforting space. The program is rooted in the philosophies of both the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches and promotes the use of a variety of teaching tools, including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, play-based, cooperative, and spiritual-focused methods, along with open-ended play as learning and freedom within structure.

The curriculum blends fun and education to support cognitive, physical, and social development and emphasizes play-based learning to foster creativity, independence, and happiness. The Creative Academic Mindfulness Curriculum supports the growth and development of the whole child, and the holistic curriculum includes literacy, music, movement, and other activities to teach and instill concepts related to kindness, compassion, and self-care. The foundation of the curriculum is mindfulness practice with an emphasis on kindness practices, and the program uses Developmentally Appropriate Practices and academically follows guidelines set by the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the California Preschool Learning Foundations, and the California Preschool Curriculum Frameworks.

Bright Star Preschool states three core values: knowing about child development and learning, knowing what is individually appropriate for each student, and knowing what is culturally important. The program uses observational teaching where educators tailor experiences based on observation, along with clear expectations with compassion through consistent routines and loving boundaries, and freedom within structure allowing children to move, explore, and interact with flexibility and gentle guidance. All staff are trained in Early Childhood Development and participate in ongoing education and training, and the team is described as experienced, professional, caring, and passionate educators and teachers with years of experience in early childhood education who work closely with parents.

The mission statement says that at Bright Star Preschool, a very secure, delightful, careful, and nurturing environment is provided for children 18 months to 5 years old, with education, safety, and happiness listed as top priorities. The mission also states a goal to instill a lifelong love of learning, to help children develop a strong toolset for navigating the adventure of an active life, to foster independence, to encourage creative exploration, and to support the unique pace and interests of every learner, with a belief that strong relationships with families are essential. The program notes that it provides a safe, engaging environment for children to explore and engage in their community. Bright Star Preschool is certified under License Number: 493010863, and tours are available on weekends.
