Camp Tule SOAR (Strengthening Outdoor Actions and Relationships)
Laguna Environmental Center, 900 Sanford Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95401

Camp Tule is a fun outdoor day camp where children learn about the plants and animals of the Laguna de Santa Rosa ecosystem in a supportive, playful, and encouraging environment. We spend each day outside, making exciting discoveries like spotting barn owls, egret, kingfisher, jackrabbit, frogs and crayfish, sketching in field journals, playing lots of nature games that teach ecological concepts, and making new friends. Our nature-themed art projects are always a special highlight each week. And, what would an adventure day be without climbing trees? We do that, too!
SOAR (Strengthening Outdoor Actions and Relationships) is for early teens to build their knowledge of the natural world, engage in stewardship and citizen science, cultivate leadership and relationship skills, connect to mentors, and have the fun of Camp Tule all at the same time. In addition to spending our camp days at the Laguna Environmental Center, we will also go on field trips to the Laguna Uplands and possibly the Laguna Wetlands Preserve, both in Sebastopol.
