About
Pass The Rock Youth Basketball Programs offers travel teams, clinics, Big Kid Ballers, a 3 x 3 Series, camps, private trainings, and summer travel teams. The program includes both Orange (3rd–7th grade) and Black (8th–12th grade) team options, as well as separate summer travel teams for these grade levels.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Assessments run August 31–September 3, with practices from September 4–October 24, including two evening practices per week on either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, plus tournament play on listed weekends.
• Price: $775 (Orange); $825 (Black); Summer Travel Teams ’26 (Black) $425.00 for players in 8th–12th grades; Summer Travel Teams ’26 (Orange) $425.00 for players in 3rd–7th grades.
Tournament schedules for Black (8th–12th) teams include FTLOTG: Hoops in the Sun (G365), OGP Oakland, CA from July 3–5, and the Las Vegas Main Event (Bigfoot Hoops), Las Vegas, NV from July 16–19. Tournament schedules for Orange (3rd–7th) teams include FTLOTG: Hoops in the Sun (G365), OGP Oakland, CA from July 3–5, and Hot August Hoops (Xtreme Hoops) at Hardwood Palace Rocklin, CA from August 1–2. Additional fall competition dates include the Golden Gate Fall League (Marin) from September 12–October 11 and Halloween Havoc (Marin) on October 23–24.
Pass The Rock Youth Basketball Programs states that its philosophy is to create thinkers and players of adaptation in a competitive atmosphere, with a primary focus on building players for the next level as well as creating a team that can succeed in the present season. The stated focus includes teamwork, skill development, emotional growth, and the goal that everyone leaves the season with more confidence and a stronger skill set and IQ, offering professional basketball services in a competitive and educational environment. The program has a no-refund policy, with pro-rated credit available for Pass The Rock activities for up to six months if a schedule is cut or cancelled, and missed activities are not credited.
The program is led by Director, Lead Trainer, and Head Coach Nic Pederson, who is also the head coach of the Analy High Varsity Boys team and a former professional player. The leadership team also includes Kenny Alexander, assistant coach for Analy High Varsity Boys, and Cyrus Condon, head coach for Analy Frosh Boys. Nic Pederson is a former international professional player who played in nine different countries across five continents, graduated from Cardinal Newman High School (Santa Rosa, CA) with a league championship, an MVP award, and a McDonald’s All-American award, and began his college career at SRJC where he earned another MVP award. He later transferred to Cal State Stanislaus, where he played one season before graduating with a degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Coaching. Nic finished his second season as head varsity basketball coach for the men’s team at Analy High School, making the league tournament and a sectional bid, and previously led the men’s and women’s varsity teams at Credo High School (Rohnert Park, CA), where in his first season he led the men’s team to its first league title, a sectional run, and an appearance in the state tournament.
