The program operates within the broader mission of Young Artists Playground (YAP) to provide interactive workshops, seasonal camps, and after-school classes for children ages 6–14. The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, where YAP is based, first opened its doors in 1995 and serves as a regional hub for theater, dance, music, and visual arts, as well as a community facility for meetings, conferences, and special events. The Center functions as a producing, presenting, and rental house, with over 350 events taking place there every year. The leadership team associated with the Center includes General Manager Fred Helsel, Assistant Manager Sandee McGee, and Audience Services Manager Jessica Mata.
