Mid County Basketball League offers basketball clinics, basketball practices, and basketball games. The program includes 2 clinics and 7 combined game and practice days. Each week there is a 20-minute practice before each game, for a total of 60 minutes at each session.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Clinics on November 9 and 16, with games and practices on November 23, December 7, 14, 21, and January 11, 18, and 25
• Price: $185
Clinic group times are: Group 1 (girls only, grades K–8) from 9:00–10:00 am; Group 2 (co-ed Kinder–1st grade) from 10:15–11:15 am; Group 3 (co-ed 2nd grade) from 11:30 am–12:30 pm; Group 4 (co-ed 3rd–4th grade) from 12:45–1:45 pm; and Group 5 (co-ed 5th–8th grade) from 2:00–3:00 pm. Teams are different each week depending on how many kids attend. The program includes a T-shirt and a basketball.
All practices are organized by the Soquel High School coaching staff and are facilitated by Soquel High School and local college athletes and coaches. The stated mission is to introduce boys and girls to basic offensive and defensive fundamentals, while fostering enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude for the game of basketball. The format is described as fostering relationships between the high school athletes and young people in the community, while allowing the athletes to give back to the community.
