Calvary Preschool offers daily indoor classroom time with music, group time, independent play, and creative expression. Children also take part in outdoor activities and play in shared play yards as part of a well-balanced mix of indoor and outdoor activities. Teachers guide and facilitate learning in a child-centered environment with clean, orderly classrooms and a focus on loving interactions and play as the primary means for healthy development in young children.

Calvary Preschool has eight independent classrooms and two shared play yards, with a licensed capacity of 134 children. The program includes a 2-year-old option for children ages 24 months to 2 years 9 months in a Young Preschool classroom for children still in diapers, with potty training support and a 1:6 ratio for individualized attention. The curriculum is customized and child-centered, with each child free to learn at their own level, pace, and degree of interest, and with younger and older children learning from each other as both teachers and students.
All teaching at Calvary Preschool is done in English, and staff members are able to communicate in Korean and Spanish. The preschool is a non-profit organization licensed by the State of California and Department of Social Services, with a stated focus on children growing to be well-rounded intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. The foremost goal of the program is to provide a preschool experience that prepares children for future success in school and in life by showing them how to solve problems, get along with others, and be competent and responsible individuals.
Calvary Presbyterian Church has sponsored Calvary Preschool since it was established in 1959, and the church considers the preschool an outreach of support to its members and to the community. The preschool notes 60 years of caring for children and lists core values of Integrity, Respect for Individuals and Diversity, Open Communication, and Innovation. The mission statement says the staff is dedicated to providing children with a safe, nurturing environment that allows each individual child to embrace diversity and grow socially, emotionally, creatively, and intellectually at their own pace.
