LearningEdge Education Center After School Program includes after school pickup, homework completed and checked, and an accelerated LearningEdge curriculum. The program offers study hall, math prep, SAT and ACT support, and summer math and science prep tutoring. Students also take part in college counseling and applications, fun hands-on engagement in the sciences, computer science, arts, discussions and speech in Book Club, English language arts, and acceleration in math.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee began LearningEdge Education Center in 2000 and have been serving South Pasadena families since 2000. Mr. Lee has been a high school science teacher since 2006 and received his BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UCSB and his MA in Teaching from APU. Mrs. Lee received her BA in Liberal Studies from Masters College and has been running LearningEdge since 2000.
The program is an after school academic program for elementary and middle school students. Elementary school students are picked up after school from Arroyo Vista, Marengo, and Monterey Hills, and South Pasadena Middle School students walk two blocks to the center. During summer, students participate in hands-on activities in sciences, computer science, arts, Book Club and ELA discussions and speech, and acceleration in math, and can lay the foundation for honors and AP courses in middle and high school.
The program’s mission states that academic success stems from establishing consistent study habits, and that investing an additional hour each day can equip students to be lifelong learners. The mission also states that establishing these habits in formative years through reading, writing, and problem solving can yield significant and enduring benefits for academic achievement.
