Nimbus Arts is a community-owned 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2005 with the mission of giving the Napa Valley community access to art. The organization states that its vision and mission are to ignite artistic expression across the Napa Valley and make art accessible and available to all members of the community. Nimbus Arts is described as a nationally recognized art education organization and works with more than 40 local artists who serve as instructors in a wide range of media. Foundational art principles and topics are covered in every class and camp, and the program uses hands-on, integrated exploration of topics through art, with a highly creative and interdisciplinary approach that can include artistic, environmental, cultural, scientific, or historical themes. Nimbus Arts offers an ArtPass, referenced by its first ArtPass holder, and has provided community mosaic events after valley wildfires.

Nimbus Arts offers free public events, community service programs, classes in public and private schools, and collaborative art projects throughout Napa County. Its classes, camps, workshops, and events are described as elevating the art profile of the Napa Valley and connecting locals and visitors with the Napa Valley artist community, while also creating opportunities and community for working artists.

The leadership team includes Dana Johnson, Nimbus Arts Co-Founder and Board President; Jamie Graff, Executive Director of the nonprofit organization; Emily Griffin-Skura, Administration and Events Coordinator at Nimbus Arts; and Janet Pagano, Executive Director of The Cantus Fund. Testimonials describe Nimbus Arts as being at the forefront of the arts in Napa Valley, an “amazing gift” to the community, a “critical partner” in art and art education in Napa County, and “the spark” for a vibrant community arts program in St. Helena. One supporter highlights Nimbus Arts’ community mosaic events after the valley wildfires, and another notes that the programming is “fun, educational and innovative.” A participant describes everyone at Nimbus as friendly, accommodating and supportive, and says the environment is nurturing and surrounded by talented people and positive energy.
