Stanford Swim Camp offers in-water instruction with stroke technique instruction on all four strokes, along with instruction on starts and turns. Campers are placed in groups with other swimmers that have similar abilities and goals upon arrival. For the safety and benefit of participants, it is recommended that all swimmers have competitive experience with butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle, have experience diving into the water and with starts and turns, and be able to complete a continuous 200 yard swim.

The 2025 Stanford Swim Camps are directed by Dan Schemmel and Marcus Noto Guttmann. Chris Lindauer is the Paul A. Violich Director of Women’s Swimming and head coach, and Dan Schemmel is the Goldman Family Director of Men’s Swimming. The camps are designed to help competitive swimmers from around the world improve their stroke technique, and the Stanford Swim Camp is open to any and all entrants and limited only by number, age and gender.
Chris Lindauer has coached 10 individual national champions, 46 women’s NCAA All-Americans, and 49 men’s NCAA All-Americans during his 15-year coaching career, and has mentored a pair of Olympic gold medalists and 13 Olympic qualifiers. He served on the USA National Team coaching staff from 2018–20 and was an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2024 Olympic Games, where he worked directly with Chris Giuliano during a World record-breaking performance and Olympic gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay and a silver medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay. Lindauer previously spent three years leading the Notre Dame swimming and diving programs, guiding the men’s team to a program-best 10th place finish at the 2024 NCAA Championships and coaching multiple ACC award winners, and 13 seasons at Louisville, where his student-athletes earned more than 100 All-America honors and 12 NCAA titles.
Dan Schemmel was hired as the Goldman Family Director of Men’s Swimming on May 14, 2019. His teams have earned top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championships, multiple conference individual titles, and numerous All-America honors, and his student-athletes have received academic recognition including Pac-12 Men’s Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year and CSC Academic All-America honors.
Parent feedback from the 2023 season includes comments such as, “She had an amazing time and a lot of fun!” and “He thoroughly enjoyed the in-water instruction as well as being on the Stanford campus.”
