Bulgarian Sunday School "Khan Asparuh"

Bulgarian Sunday School "Khan Asparuh" offers Bulgarian language classes for children and adults, including both in-class and distance learning options. The program also includes Bulgarian folk dance classes for beginners and advanced students, Bulgarian Spirit class for children, and traditional folk singing classes for all levels for children and adults. Participants learn Bulgarian language, art, folk dance, and singing through these classes.

Bulgarian Sunday School "Khan Asparuh" was founded on April 21, 2012, and was officially opened in May 2012 by the President of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev. It has been licensed by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education since 2013 and is the only Bulgarian school in the Bay Area officially recognized and licensed by the Bulgarian Ministry of Education. The school’s stated purpose is to preserve and disseminate the Bulgarian language, culture, and traditions in Northern California and beyond, and it aims to enlarge the Bulgarian community in Northern California and create a community and foster friendships while learning and having fun. The founder, Ekaterina Borisova, has business studies in the United States and professional experience in corporate and international strategies. The school offers a variety of affordable classes and provides options for both in-class and distance learning for children and adults.
