Community First School

Community First School offers activities, experiments, movies, STEM projects, and field trips through its programs. The Summer Spot is a weekly camp that includes these activities and is described as filled with fun. The program also serves infant, preschool, and school age children and has open enrollment for Summer 2026, with current openings in its infant and preschool programs and an always-open wait list.

Community First School states that its mission is to always encourage the natural curiosity and desire to learn in each individual child. Its programs support an eclectic philosophy that includes play based, high scope, emergent, discovery, and developmentally appropriate practice. The program provides a variety of learning opportunities that foster each child’s physical, social, mental, and emotional development and has created a stimulating, caring, home-like environment where each child can be an independent, self-motivated thinker and active learner. It states a commitment to preparing all children for their next educational journey into kindergarten and beyond and to helping children develop life skills that will carry them further in life.

The Sunnyvale School Age After School Program is for children entering Transitional Kindergarten to age 16, and transportation is provided from Cherry Chase Elementary while also accepting enrollments from other Sunnyvale School District schools. Community First School states that children, family, and community are all interconnected. It strives to have open communication between the program and each enrolled family, values its families, and is committed to a joint working relationship to support each child’s readiness for their next stage in life. The program also notes that the HiMama App is becoming the Lillio App. The Sunnyvale location lists Dieu Mi Le as Director, and the Milpitas location lists Thao Tran as Director.
