Silicon Valley Fencing Center Programs

Silicon Valley Fencing Center Programs offers the Intro Class for students who have never fenced before, with three 55-minute classes held once a week for three consecutive weeks and all equipment provided by SVF. It also offers Beginner Class, Intermediate Program, Advanced Competitive Program, Private Lessons, Camps, and Competitive Camps, with activities that include fencing practice, private lessons, basic rules, footwork, blade work, and fencing every day in camp.

Programs

• Intro Class — students who have never fenced before · Three 55-minute classes held once a week for three consecutive weeks. All equipment is provided by SVF.
• Beginner Class — Students may enroll for one or two classes per week. Each class is 55 minutes long. Private lessons are offered and recommended at this level.
• Intermediate Program — Each class is 90 minutes long, with 2 to 3 classes per week. Two private lessons per week is mandatory at this level.
• Advanced Competitive Program — Offers longer practice hours and more practice days, up to four days weekly. Two to four private lessons per week are strongly recommended.
• Camps — boys and girls ages 6-12 · Fun-filled fencing camps. Campers learn basic rules, footwork and blade work, and fence every day.
• Competitive Camps — Help intermediate and advanced fencers improve skills through intensive, focused training and expert coaching.

About the provider

The program’s mission is to create a safe and friendly environment where all students feel welcomed and inspired to fulfill their goals. The leadership team includes Oleksii Muruhin, Yuliya Muruhin, Vil Nagimov, Andrej Raisch, Nastia Churkova, Lucia Procopio, and Wing Hei Chu (Ziv). SVF is an award-winning fencing club in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a United States Fencing Association President’s Award club recipient, and is home to National Champions, World Cup winners and medalists, World Champions, and Olympians.

• Private Lessons — Private lessons are offered to members only. Each lesson is 20 minutes long.

SVF will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Introductory Class consists of three 55-minute classes held once a week for three consecutive weeks. Camps are for new fencers, both boys and girls ages 6-12, and space is limited. Campers must be picked up within 10 minutes after the end of the camp session.
