SV Chess Kids

SV Chess Kids offers fun and educational chess classes for kids, including weekend kids’ classes and small-group chess classes every weekend in Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, and Santa Clara. The program includes chess classes, tournaments, blitz tournaments, online tutoring, strategy-focused workshops, and casual chess nights. SV Chess Kids is part of a broader community that also runs community chess events and corporate team-building sessions built around chess.

• Ages: 4–12 years old
• Schedule: Weekend and weekly class options, including Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday and Sunday morning blocks
• Price: We give a first class for free and discounts on packages and siblings.

In February 2024, founder Viktor Grigorev started this social chess community. The leadership team includes Viktor Grigorev, Founder and Chess Coach of Silicon Valley Chess Kids Academy and founder of the Silicon Valley Chess Community, along with coaches DJ (Sunnyvale), Archit, Everett, and Viktor (Cupertino), Aryan and Viktor (Palo Alto), and Mandy for contact response. The stated mission is: “Through chess, we create friendships, growth, and memories that last.” The broader SV Chess Community also hosts weekly chess events in San Francisco and Sunnyvale that bring 30–50 players of all backgrounds together to play blitz at local venues.
