Cali Camp was established in 1955. Its mission states that it is dedicated to offering an engaging and connective experience in a natural setting and to providing safe and joyful opportunities for both campers and staff to embody laughter, growth and adventure. The staff holds hundreds of years of combined experience.
Cali Camp welcomes campers ages 4 to 15. It offers a Wrangler Camp specialty camp for horse lovers for campers ages 8 to 14 and a Junior Leaders program with special training experiences in leadership for 14 or 15 year olds. Open Houses are held from 10 am to 1 pm, with self-guided tours, chances to meet staff, and sample activities, and a suggested visit time of at least an hour.
A sample daily schedule includes a 9 am bus arrival, 9:15 am Morning Saihi and Circle Time, 9:45 am arts and crafts, a 10:30 am nature hike, 11:15 am swimming, noon lunch, 12:45 pm archery, 1:30 pm playground time, 2:15 pm go-karts, 3 pm Saibi and snacks, and 3:30 pm bus departure. Activities are pre-assigned and rotate on a daily basis.
Families can choose to send a lunch from home in an insulated lunch box, with bags kept at group shelves in the shade and ice packs recommended. Hot lunch is available for purchase on a per-day basis, is charged to the card on file at the end of the week, and can be added through the CampMinder account. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free items are available every day. The Snack Shack sells treats and camp merchandise, and campers are required to show a staff member how much of their lunch they have eaten before visiting the Snack Shack. Parents can add money to a camper’s Camp Store account to pay for snacks and camp merchandise, and unused funds from pre-paid lunches or the camp store are non-refundable. It is suggested to send only a minimal amount of cash per day because campers sometimes lose their money, and Cali Camp is not responsible for misplaced money.
