About

The Love School offers children time in garden harvesting, crafting, music circles, nature walks, and beach days. The program includes a community-centered forest school, kindergarten, homeschool options, and a nature-immersive Summer Camp. Children share fresh, wholesome organic foods, with meals prepared and enjoyed by the children alongside the chef of the day, and experience gentle trilingual immersion in English, Spanish, and French.

• Ages: 0–12 years old

Founded in 1994, The Love School is a nature-based, relationship-centered learning community rooted in love, belonging, and care for the earth. It is described as a multi-age, intergenerational learning environment where all learning arises through meaningful experience, relationships are central, and each child is welcomed as a whole and valued human being. The program is shaped by a Global Village approach and guided by a legacy of progressive educators and elders, while being shaped by decades of close work with children. The Love School states that it holds life as education and that The Love School Way is developed as an approach to living, fostering stewardship, developing leadership, and deepening connection to one another, the Earth, and the wider world. The mission notes inspiration from one another, from progressive thinkers, from Indigenous wisdom, and from the unique genius and talent within each person, and it states that education should both meet the present moment and empower children to become active, compassionate creators of it.

The Love School welcomes children and families of all races, cultures, abilities, genders, neurodiversities, and life experiences. The program is led by Mama Claudia, Founder and Director. The Love School is a DBA of Udy Family Child Care LLC and holds Facility Number: 197495087.

One parent testimonial from Leslie, mama of Honu and Kuya, describes The Love School as “chicken soup for the soul,” with a gentle, nurturing place and “tangible goodness” surrounding the children each day. The testimonial highlights a welcoming, authentic sense of community that includes parents as well as children, and describes belonging, tended relationships, and hearts met with care, saying that coming each day “simply feels good” and that the family continues to blossom in this circle of warmth, connection, and love.
