Cali Camp was established in 1955. The staff holds hundreds of years of combined experience. The mission of Cali Camp states that it is dedicated to offering an engaging and connective experience in a natural setting and that it provides safe and joyful opportunities for both campers and staff to embody laughter, growth, and adventure. Wrangler Camp is described as a specialty camp for horse lovers that sells out fast and is for campers ages 8–14, and there is also a Junior Leaders program for 14 or 15 year olds with special training experiences in leadership.
Rocco’s Kitchen at Cali Camp provides hot lunch, which is available for purchase on a per-day basis and via a CampMinder account, and vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free items are available every day. Families can choose a classic lunch option where campers bring their own lunch in an insulated lunch box, keep their bags at group shelves in the shade, and are encouraged to use ice packs. All campers must show a staff member how much of their lunch they have eaten before going to the Snack Shack, which sells ice cream, fresh baked cookies, and fresh popped popcorn, along with Cali Camp swag such as stuffed animals, mini backpacks, towels, keychains, and more. There is a new option to add money to a camper’s Camp Store account to pay for snacks and camp merchandise, and it is suggested to only send campers with a minimal amount of cash per day because sometimes campers lose their money and Cali Camp is not responsible for misplaced money.
