About

American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Youth Soccer Programs offer a youth soccer program where kids play soccer. The program is built on the power of volunteer support, bringing together community members to coach, referee, and support their local Regions. AYSO is described as the World's Biggest Soccer Club and has the complete Player Development Pathway, which allows anyone, from toddler to adult, including those with developmental disabilities, to play soccer.

• Ages: 2–18 years old

AYSO has been providing a world-class youth soccer program for more than fifty years. Its mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on AYSO’s Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays®, Balanced Teams, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, Open Registration, and Player Development. The goal of the program is to create a fun, family-friendly environment where children can grow and develop soccer, leadership, and social skills.

The leadership team includes Jenni Luke as National Executive Director; Rich Pagaliarli as National Board Member; Kris Graff as Treasurer; Gary Van Otten as National Board Member; and Michael Cassidy as Secretary. AYSO’s credentials and awards include AYSO Area of the Year Section 2 Area N (2018), Section 2 Area of the Year (2019), Section 2 Extraordinary Volunteer (2018), Section 2 Exceptional Volunteer of the Year (2016), Manny Hirschel Area 2N Volunteer of the Year (2014), and Best EXPO Area Attendance (2016, 2017, 2020).

AYSO is involved in the community through a partnership with The Autism Community in Action (TACA) to expand inclusive soccer education nationwide. U.S. Men’s leading goal scorer Landon Donovan said, “The beauty of AYSO was that you had kids from all walks of life who just wanted to be active and run around and play soccer,” and he also shared, “Josh would take me out to the backyard and kick the ball around with me.” Donovan added that he was “playing club soccer at the age of 10 but I wanted to continue playing AYSO because I enjoyed the camaraderie and the ability to just play for the love of the game.”
