Sling Summer Flight Camp

Sling Summer Flight Camp gives teens real aviation training from the ground up, including ground school aligned with Private Pilot License (PPL) standards. The program includes 30 hours of real flight time in Sling NGT aircraft and 10 hours in advanced flight simulators. Participants also explore careers ranging from airline pilot to aerospace engineering.

Sling Summer Flight Camp runs June 22, 2026 to July 31, 2026, Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM, and also runs June 15 to July 29, 2026, Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM. The program states the mission, “We’re here to uplift people’s lives through aviation!” Sling Pilot Academy notes a severe worldwide pilot shortage as context and that college is no longer required to become an airline pilot. The program is affiliated with SkyWest Airlines and Flight Path Museum LAX, and mentions outside scholarship opportunities from the AOPA Foundation and Flight Path Museum LAX. Sling Pilot Academy provides scholarships, including a $20,000 annual scholarship awarded each August.

Sling Pilot Academy has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Flight Schools in the US for three consecutive years: 2023, 2024, and 2025. A testimonial from Mark Cole, “From student pilot to airline captain,” states that the experience at Sling Pilot Academy, including flying advanced planes in the complicated LA airspace, put him ahead of his SkyWest classmates.
