City of Ukiah Youth Sports Leagues offers a recreational basketball league with youth basketball practices, youth basketball games, and a Youth Basketball Shoot-A-Thon, as well as a recreational softball league. In the Youth Basketball League, each team receives two basketballs and each player is given a reversible team jersey with the sponsor name and number on the back. The Girls Youth Softball League is offered as a recreational softball league.

• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: The youth basketball league runs each year from November through the middle of February, with one-hour practices on weekday evenings starting in early November and one-hour games on weekends starting in December. Officials for the City of Ukiah Youth Basketball League are needed Saturdays and Sundays, January through March.
• Price: The fee to sponsor a Youth Basketball team for the Ukiah Youth Basketball League is $350.

The City of Ukiah offers a recreational basketball league for boys and girls in grades K–12, and this league is non-competitive with no league standings kept except for high school. The City of Ukiah also offers a recreational softball league for girls ages 3 through 8th grade, and this league is non-competitive with no league standings kept. Volunteer coaches in the Youth Basketball League are at least 18 years of age, coach one one-hour practice per week and one one-hour game per week, and must pass a background check before being selected. Referees and scorekeepers must be at least 15 years of age and must complete all pre-employment testing. Low-income residents of Mendocino County are eligible for partial fee subsidies depending on income and fund availability, with each eligible application receiving up to a 75% subsidy. For the Youth Basketball League, the league does not provide basketball attire such as shoes, socks, or shorts.

For the Youth Basketball League, forms are distributed to schools in the Ukiah area and to schools in Willits, Potter Valley, and Anderson Valley. For the Girls Youth Softball League, forms are distributed to schools in the Ukiah area and to schools in Willits and Potter Valley. The Youth Basketball Shoot-A-Thon raises money for the program, and donors can visit 99Pledges to sponsor any player in the league, with players shooting 20 free throws and collecting pledges per basket made or flat-rate donations. The City of Ukiah asks businesses to sponsor a Youth Basketball team for the Ukiah Youth Basketball League. The program is led by Senior Sports Coordinator Kyle Nuss and Senior Recreation Coordinator Marianne Aranda.
