About
Head Start Child Development Program offers Head Start, Early Head Start, Head Start / State Preschool, and Early Head Start / CCTR. Services include center-based programs, free fresh and healthy meals with accommodations for children with food allergies and/or medical needs, and potty training assistance. The program offers services in both English and Spanish and welcomes children with disabilities.

About the provider
The program was founded in 1968. Miriam McNamara is listed as the Program Director. The mission statement says the program offers comprehensive, family-centered services to support the well-being and development of young children in Lake and Mendocino Counties. It also collaborates with agencies in its two-county service area, including The Mendocino County Department of Health & Human Services, Department of Social Services, First 5, SELPA, MPIC, Easter Seals, Redwood Coast Regional Center, Rural Communities Child Care, Foster Grandparents, Garden’s Project, and Community Health Clinics.
Services are offered in both English and Spanish. Children with disabilities are welcome. Ten percent of enrollment must be children with a certified disability. Applications are accepted year-round. One note states Lake County does not offer services for children under age 3.
