Joanne Brown Dancers

Joanne Brown Dancers offers dance classes that include Pre-Ballet & Tap, Tap/Jazz Dance Combo, Ballet, Hip Hop, Adult Tap, Adult Ballet/Lyrical Stretch Class, and Adult Beg Jazz. Classes meet Monday through Saturday, and times vary by class. Some classes list requirements such as leotards, dance pants, bike shorts, tights, tutus, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, hair pulled back in a pony or bun, dress comfortably, or street tennis shoes.

• Tap/Jazz Dance Combo — Age 4-7, Age 5-8, Age 6-8, Age 9-16 · Sat 11:45am-12:30pm; Mon 5:00pm-5:45pm; Fri 6:45pm-7:30pm; Sat 12:30pm-1:15pm; Mon 6:30pm-7:15pm · Students learn tap rhythms, rhythmic skills, body isolations, and classic jazz moves.

About the provider

Joanne Brown Dancers says it has been where the joy of dance happens in Union City for 45 years, and that it officially opened its doors in January 1993. Joanne Brown earned a teaching credential and a B.A. in Liberal Studies in 1975. The program also notes that she choreographed the number that helped Union City win the 1999 All-American City Award and that she teaches dance programs at Pioneer, Kitiyama, Alvarado, and Eastin Elementary Schools.

Fall registration is open. Classes begin September 14th. Class space is limited and families should reserve early. The studio describes a warm and friendly environment.
