About
United Cities Wing Chun Student Association is a class dedicated to learning and preserving Wing Chun Kung Fu and Cultural Arts. Participants study Martial Arts and explore different Martial Arts styles, techniques, and theories as part of their training in Wing Chun Kung Fu.
• Price: Today enrollment and quarterly fees are required for the facility, but the goal remains the same, keeping the cost low and affordable for students. All quarterly fees go directly to Union City Leisure Services to operate its facilities.
The mission of United Cities Wing Chun Student Association is to stay open-minded for people who are genuinely interested in Wing Chun and Martial Arts, and to keep the class friendly so members can ask questions, discuss techniques, share experiences, and grow as Martial Artists in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. The class has hosted like-minded guests who care about the preservation of the arts, and it grew organically, bringing in neighboring kids and adults, with no tuition in the early days and a focus on passing down Wing Chun Kung Fu. The program notes that the class is held in a friendly environment with helpful members and encourages members to explore different Martial Arts styles, techniques, and theories to gain greater insight into Wing Chun.
United Cities Wing Chun Student Association marks “Celebrating 30 years - 2023.” Sifu Alson started his Wing Chun training in 1987 at Pena Mohai, Palo Alto, with Grand Master Kenneth Chung and was in the third batch of Grand Master Chung’s Bay Area students. In 2007, United Cities Wing Chun Student Association moved to Union City Leisure Services with the assistance of Sifu Stephen Jeung, who had been teaching at Union City Community Centers since 1999, and Stephen formally retired from teaching in 2018.
