About

Valencia Tutors Learning Center offers tutoring, secondary tutoring, and summer tutoring, along with fall, spring, and summer classes. The program also provides courses for credit, accredited online courses, and classes for credit, including dual credit at home classes and dual credit at home classes for 9–12 graders to earn college credits in high school. Students can also take part in SAT/ACT prep, college counseling, college planning, and support with college essays and college applications.

• Schedule: Summer hours Monday–Thursday with morning and afternoon blocks and Friday mornings; fall and spring hours Monday–Thursday afternoons into early evening and Friday afternoons

Valencia Tutors Learning Center operates under the leadership of Administrator Laura Lorenze, M.Ed | ICAC. The mission of Valencia Tutors Learning Center is to understand and address each student’s unique needs through strong collaborations with parents, educators, and counselors, fostering a comprehensive approach and high level of learning to support students in reaching their academic and career goals. The program holds WASC accreditation, is NCAA approved, and is Hart District approved, and it notes involvement with the Hart District. The center states it has guided over 400 students through the college application process and offers accredited online courses for high school recovery, honors, and core subject credits that are Hart District approved.

Parent and student testimonials describe experiences with college planning, test prep, academic tutoring, and college applications, including comments about using the center for college planning and test prep, increases in SAT scores, guidance with Common App essays and narrowing college choices, and support in passing a high school trigonometry class. The program materials state that it is dedicated to the individual needs of each student and that collaboration with parents, teachers, and counselors is part of its approach. The center’s materials also indicate continuous operation at least from 2019 through 2024.
