Break Camps for Kids includes specific options such as Chess Wizards Summer Camp, Chon Reneé Dance Academy: Dance Arts Summer Camp, and FRESH Theatre Spring Camp. The program also offers Fun Seekers Spring Break Camp, Little Sprouts Spring Break Camp, and Teacher Kay's Alphapals Summer Camp. Additional choices include Incrediflix Film Camp, Macsense Summer Soccer Camp, PlayWell Lego + STEM Camp, and Solano Lions Cheer & Dance Camps for Cubs (Beginner) and Paws (Beginner/Intermediate).
The Greater Vallejo Recreation District was established on July 14, 1944. GVRD offers programs that benefit over 120,000 Vallejo residents of all ages each year. GVRD organizes and manages sports programs for youth and adults, before and after-school programming, leisure classes, and special interest events such as The Vallejo Sports Hall of Fame, Breakfast with Santa, Arts and Concerts in the Park, and Fishing in the City. The Greater Vallejo Park, Recreation, & Open Space Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports events. GVRD partners with the City of Vallejo and National Academy of Athletics for the Mobile Recess Program, and partner websites include organizations such as First 5 Solano, Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano, Junior Giants, Leaven Kids, Loma Vista Farm, On the Fringe Visual and Performing Arts, One People Tribe, Recology Vallejo, and several state and regional agencies and associations. GVRD is an independent special district and a separate government agency from the City of Vallejo. GVRD holds board meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the GVRD Administration Building.
