About

Summer Camps & Intensives at Ballet Academy Ventura include the Little Ballerina Dance Camp, the Junior “Junior” Intensive, and the Junior Intensive. Students take part in ballet training and learn character dances from Russia, Italy and Eastern Europe, as well as Musical Theater. Each session ends with an in-studio demonstration for friends and family.

• Schedule: Little Ballerina Dance Camp meets Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 10, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, and the Junior “Junior” Intensive and Junior Intensive each offer two separate weeks that run Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM with an additional Saturday session, for 6-day weeks.
• Price: Little Ballerina Dance Camp costs $225; the Junior “Junior” Intensive costs $400 per week or $750 for both weeks; the Junior Intensive costs $400 per week or $750 for both weeks.

The Little Ballerina Dance Camp runs for 5 days, while each week of the Junior “Junior” Intensive and Junior Intensive runs for 6 days. Camps and intensives use the Vaganova teaching method and include character dances from Russia, Italy and Eastern Europe and Musical Theater. An in-studio demonstration for friends and family is held at the end of each session.

Ballet Academy Ventura has served Ventura County for over 30 years as a center for dance education and provides a complete dance program from Creative Movement and Pre-ballet through Pre-Professional. The school is the official school of the Ventura County Ballet, whose productions include an annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and other spring concerts. Ballet Academy Ventura states that it aims to educate the whole child, build self-confidence and love of ballet as an art form, and develop students in a healthy and loving way through gentle and constructive correction.

The Summer Camps & Intensives are offered by Ballet Academy Ventura, whose leadership team includes Director and founder Kathleen Noblin, Curriculum Director Marina Fliagina, Conservatory Instructors Nilas Martins and Sergei Domrachev, and instructors Hanna Chudinova and Elizaveta (Leeza) Domracheva. Faculty credentials include professional training and performance backgrounds in Russia, Denmark, Ukraine, Canada, and the United States, as well as work with companies such as the Moscow State Theatre Kremlin Ballet, Perm State Opera House/Tchaikovsky Ballet, State Street Ballet, New York City Ballet, and others. BAV students are consistently accepted into professional ballet summer intensive programs such as American Ballet Theater, Boston Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, and School of American Ballet, and have earned scholarships to many university programs.

Program staff and leadership have received multiple recognitions, including the 2008 Mayor’s Arts Award to Kathleen Noblin for service as an Arts Educator and a 2006 Certificate of Recognition from the City of San Buenaventura for Ventura County Ballet’s cultural programs. Additional individual honors include international competition awards for Elizaveta (Leeza) Domracheva and Sergei Domrachev, and a Devos Institute for Arts Management fellowship for Nilas Martins. Ballet Academy Ventura and its director have also participated in community arts programs such as the Ventura Music Festival, collaborations with local arts organizations, and dance education programs in the Ventura Unified School District.
