Las Posas Children’s Center, Inc. operates school aged childcare centers on six campuses in Ventura Unified School District: Junipero Serra School, Blanche Reynolds School, Pierpont School, Citrus Glen School, Will Rogers School, and Montalvo School. All six centers offer after school child care until 6:00 pm and provide care during Fall and Spring break, In-Service days, and on most school holidays. The organization also offers a Summer Day Camp for K–8th graders, with three- and five-day week plans, weekly field trips to the swimming pool, beach, and a special event, and all field trips included in the weekly tuition, and families can pick and choose which weeks to enroll without paying for unattended weeks.
Las Posas Children’s Center, Inc. opened in June 1985, and the founders were Robert (Bob) Alfino and Cheryl Reeder. The organization states that it was founded, and exists today, to support families in raising their children with high moral values and strong character, using a child-centered approach with structured and unstructured recreational activities, and that it encourages responsibility, self-discipline, and good citizenship and desires that each child feel accepted, stimulated, secure, happy, and loved. LPCC Summer Day Camp became accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) in 2003, and it was the first in the city of Ventura to do so. Las Posas Children’s Center, Inc. was voted “Best Childcare” in Ventura County for the past twelve years in the VC Reporter, and it was voted Best Day Care for West Ventura County in the Ventura County Star Readers Poll in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2016 and in the VC Reporter in 2013–2024. LPCC staff won the City of Ventura Corporate Games D Division Overall Championship in 1999, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. In 2019, LPCC replaced three buses with three new 2020 Bluebird Buses in compliance with the California Air Resources Board Truck and Bus Regulations.
