Morumbi Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Academy offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Kids Jiu Jitsu, kettlebell training, fitness, and self-defense. The Kids Jiu Jitsu program includes both verbal and Jiu Jitsu techniques that use leverage and control instead of punching and kicking. Kettlebell training at the academy is described as a total body exercise that burns fat and builds lean muscle.

Morumbi Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Academy is one of the largest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training facilities in the area and is outfitted with top-of-the-line equipment. The academy offers programs for both adults and kids, including a safe and structured Fundamentals Program and advanced modules. Its unique programs are described as a comprehensive and complete training path that progresses from Fundamentals to more advanced levels. The Kids Jiu Jitsu program is described as helping children build confidence, character, and skills to defend themselves against bullies, with an emphasis on making training enjoyable and fun, including after-class activities such as beach parties.

The academy’s founder and head instructor is Professor Fabio Leopoldo. Professor Fabio holds a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, is a 4-time World Champion, a 6-time Pan American Champion, a 2-time Brazilian National champion, and a former professional MMA fighter. The academy has been voted #1 in Ventura County since 2009 and has been awarded Best Martial Arts School in Ventura County by the Ventura County Reader’s Choice awards every year since 2009. The head instructor has won the Best Instructor Award 11 times. The Ventura County Reader’s Choice awards recognize the best in Ventura County, California. The academy’s stated mission is, “With good intentions and hard work you can achieve anything,” and its philosophy describes training in Jiu Jitsu as a journey requiring good intentions, hard work, and determination.
