German classes for children use these activities in each class. Each class focuses on curiosity, cultural awareness, and real communication skills.

• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Saturday classes from 9 am to 12 pm during a school year that coincides with the public school calendar

The German-American School Association of Southern California, Inc. (GASA) is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation founded in 1954 and is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Its mission states that multilingualism is the norm in most of the world and that children who speak and write more than one language will be better prepared for life in the 21st century with its growing global economy, and that the best way to master another language is to start learning at an early age. Saturday Schools operate at 10 different campuses throughout the Southland, and enrollment is open for the 2026–2027 school year. Weekday and adult classes are available online, and GASA offers online courses for different language levels during the school year and summer months that are geared towards taking German standardized tests (A1, A2, Deutsch Sprachdiplom I (B1), Deutsch Sprachdiplom II (C1), AATG levels 2–4, and AP test preparation). GASA admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. GASA lists community involvement with the Austrian American Club, Austrian American Council West, The Phoenix Club, The Tyrolean & Bavarian Zither Club, and Los Angeles Schwaben Verein.
