Las Posas Children’s Center offers arts and crafts, sports and games, and weekly field trips to the swimming pool, the beach, and a special event. The program also includes field trips to Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor, and Skating Plus, and all field trips are included in the weekly tuition. During the summer months, it offers a Summer Day Camp for K–8th graders.

• Schedule: After school child care during the school year until 6:00 pm, with hours listed as 11:30 pm–6:00 pm, plus a Summer Day Camp for K–8th graders during the summer months
• Price: Montalvo Annual Registration Fee: $85.00 (June–June). Additional Child Discount (minimum 3 days per week): $5.00 per week. After School Grades 1–8: 4–5 days $112.00 per week; 3 days $84.00 per week; 2 days $56.00 per week; 1 day $28.00 per week. After School Kindergarten: 4–5 days $134.00 per week; 3 days $99.00 per week; 2 days $66.00 per week; 1 day $33.00 per week. After School TK 2:30 dismissal (must be 5 years old by Feb 2, 2026): 4–5 days $112.00 per week; 3 days $84.00 per week; 2 days $56.00 per week; 1 day $28.00 per week.
Las Posas Children’s Center, Inc. operates school aged childcare centers on six campuses in Ventura Unified School District: Junipero Serra School, Blanche Reynolds School, Pierpont School, Citrus Glen School, Will Rogers School, and Montalvo School. The program provides care during Fall and Spring break, In-Service days, and on most school holidays, and all six centers offer after school child care until 6:00 pm. Families can pick and choose which weeks to enroll in the Summer Day Camp without paying for unattended weeks.
Las Posas Children’s Center opened in June 1985, and the founders were Robert (Bob) Alfino and Cheryl Reeder. The mission of Las Posas Children’s Center is to support families in raising their children with high moral values and strong character, using a child-centered approach that includes structured and unstructured recreational activities, and to encourage responsibility, self-discipline, and good citizenship so that each child feels accepted, stimulated, secure, happy, and loved.
The LPCC Summer Day Camp became accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) in 2003, and it was the first in the city of Ventura to receive this accreditation. Las Posas Children’s Center has been voted “Best Childcare in Ventura County” in the VC Reporter for twelve consecutive years, and it was voted Best Day Care for West Ventura County in the Ventura County Star Readers Poll in 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2016, and in the VC Reporter in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. LPCC staff also won the City of Ventura Corporate Games D Division Overall Championship in 1999, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
