North Coast Jiu Jitsu

North Coast Jiu Jitsu offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kids Jiu-Jitsu groups, Muay Thai striking, Women’s Self Defense Classes, anti-bully programs, family class, and boot camp classes. It also lists adult and teen Gi and No Gi fundamentals, adult all belt levels, and kids Gi classes for ages 4-6 and 7-12.

About the provider

North Coast Jiu Jitsu is led by Head Instructor Jake Mapes. Jake Mapes is a 4th Degree Black Belt with an 8-0 MMA record, and he was the 2009 National IBJJF Absolute Champion and a 2009 Bronze Medalist at the IBJJF Worlds. He received his Black Belt in 2009 from Luis Heredia under Rickson Gracie’s lineage. The mission statement says the academy aims to create a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training academy/team in Vista that is in a category of one and to make a positive impact on anyone’s life. The program also states that it supports police and military and has classes tailored to their needs.
