Contra Costa Ballet Centre

Contra Costa Ballet Centre offers children’s programs, teen/adult programs, professional programs, a youth company, leadership programs, a mentorship program, and teacher training. Upper-level dancers can connect with younger dancers, serve as role models, teach level-appropriate choreography, work as teacher assistants, and study ballet instruction.

About the provider

Contra Costa Ballet Centre was founded in 1974 and has provided world-class dance training in the East Bay for over 60 years. Its mission is to provide the highest level of training possible by recruiting finely trained and educated world-class teachers. The directors and faculty hail from American Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Ballet, New York City Ballet, the Royal Ballet, Ritsuko Kamo, and Matsuyama Ballet. The Contra Costa Ballet Foundation sponsors the company and supports outreach events to local schools and the public, and the company performs three professionally produced performances each year.

The school closes on May 31st and Contra Costa Ballet Academy opens on June 1st with new leadership by Aaron Orza and Kristin Orza.
