Safari Kid Walnut Creek After School Program includes activities such as chess, computers, and dance as part of its offerings for children in grades K–8. The program also provides weekly packets that reinforce and complement concepts taught in school as well as at Safari Kid, along with a curriculum that is customized for each child based on assessed strengths, capabilities, and weaknesses. In addition to academic support, the program includes extra-curricular options that range from chess to computers to dance.

Safari Kid Walnut Creek After School Program is part of the broader Safari Kid early childhood development program, which has over 10 years of experience. The program’s philosophy and vision state that each child is unique and that the program strives to create better human beings. The after school program includes preparation for common core and GATE tests, and its students have achieved perfect scores in the former STAR tests (California State test, now discontinued) and are described as the best among GATE (Gifted and Talented Education, USA) students. The organization has two locations in Walnut Creek.
Shy (known as Miss Shy to the children and teachers) founded Safari Kid for preschool and after school students and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an LLB (Bachelor of Law) from India. Ms. Shy is also active in local community service through her non-profit organization.
