Alphabet Soup Childcare Summer Camp offers 11 weeks of activities that include movies one day a week, swimming pool time three times a week, and one big field trip each week. Field trips and outings feature Laser Tag, Miniature Golf, the Jelly Belly Factory, Sky-Zone Trampoline, Monster Mini-Golf, Rico’s Pizza, and bowling. Field trip participants are expected to bring a backpack, water bottle, sunscreen, swim suit, towel, and good walking shoes every day.

Alphabet Soup Childcare Summer Camp is led by Owner/Director Ms. Kari Rohwer Powell, who has owned Alphabet Soup Childcare since 1994. Staff credentials listed for the program include a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, a Child Development degree from Sacramento State University, and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. The stated goal of the program is to make sure that every child who attends Alphabet Soup will be ready and equipped for kindergarten. The program has worked closely with Woodland Joint Unified School District to help evaluate children who may need assistance prior to kindergarten. Adults who attended the summer camp as children frequently report that the summer program was the best summers of their childhood.
