Good Night Sleep Site, which offers Toddler Sleep Programs, was founded in 2007. Its mission is to educate, guide, and support families as they become a healthier, more well-rested family unit. All consultants are certified Sleep Consultants and trained as Good Night Sleep Educators, and every team member is fully certified through The Family Sleep Institute, a 6‑month certification program with over 250 hours of training. The team includes mothers, teachers, social workers, pediatric registered nurses, parenting educators, and behavioural analysts. The leadership team includes Founder and Senior Certified Sleep Consultant Alanna McGinn, along with Senior Certified Sleep Consultants Annastasia Hermle, Jamie Contarini, Jenny Peach, Jolan Holmes, Kayla Ginsler, and Jennifer Gilman, and additional consultants including Krista Abraham, Natalie Barker, Taylor Gadd, and registered nurse and nurse psychotherapist Jillian Williamson.
Support is provided through online sleep programs with both 1:1 and group options organized by age, and virtual baby sleep support services are fully online, allowing work with families in other states and countries. The organization offers a range of plans from super hands-on to DIY, and also provides corporate sleep workshops and corporate sleep seminars. The Family Sleep Institute certification is an extensive 6‑month program with over 250 hours of training, and founder Alanna McGinn has served on The Family Sleep Institute faculty for over 8 years. The organization is described as the go-to sleep expert for a number of national publications and media outlets. Alanna hosts the This Girl Loves Sleep Podcast and is resident sleep expert for multiple publications including Forbes, Maclean’s, Today’s Parent, and Prevention Magazine, and appears as a media sleep expert on Cityline, The Marilyn Denis Show, Breakfast Television, CBC Radio, Your Morning, CP24, CHCH Morning Live, and 680 News. Annastasia Hermle is a Certified Child Sleep Consultant and is certified and insured to work with clients worldwide.
The practice has collaborated with the Davis Babywearers group in Yolo County, which holds outdoor tutorial meetups in the park during the Davis Farmer’s Market. The practitioner has spoken to families about newborn sleep safety several times at the Buy Buy Baby Roseville store near the Westfield Galleria at Roseville. The practitioner has also built a partnership with the Fit4Mom Village group in Placer County, providing virtual sleep seminars for their members, and plans to work with their sister groups in Amador County and Solano County.
Parents have shared that they worked with Senior Certified Sleep Consultant Annastasia Hermle for sleep training support and reassurance during the process. One parent from Sacramento, CA, described the experience as involving a few sleepless nights and crying but said they were glad they proceeded with sleep training under Annastasia’s guidance. Another parent from Woodland, CA, reported that after two weeks of working with Annastasia, their 8‑month‑old, who had been refusing to sleep in a crib and was an inconsistent napper, was taking consistent hour-and-a-half naps and sleeping in the crib at night, and noted that Annastasia met with both parents beforehand, provided detailed written instructions, ongoing feedback, and tips during a final support session.
