Yolo County Office of Education Early Head Start / Head Start / State Preschool

Yolo County Office of Education Early Head Start / Head Start / State Preschool offers play experience, kinder readiness, and primary care for qualifying children. The program is part of the Yolo County Office of Education Early Childhood Education Department and supports early care and education initiatives that include these specific activities for all qualifying children.

The program’s leadership team includes Shannon McClarin as Director of Early Childhood Education, Katrina Hopkins as Program Administrator, Maria Cardenas as Administrative Secretary, and Garth Lewis as Superintendent. Its mission is to provide inspiration, leadership, support, and advocacy that ensures equity and access to high-quality education for all students. The program is committed to assisting the community to raise children who are healthy and ready to learn, and it pursues educational equity in serving the children, youth, and families of Yolo County. It is also committed to equity and to creating and maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
