About

Liza's School of Rhythmic Gymnastics offers rhythmic gymnastics classes that include warm-up, flexibility training, strength training, basic ballet, dance preparation, and basic tumbling. Gymnasts work with rope, hoop, ball, and ribbon, and learn floor routines that are performed at semi-annual showcases, local invitationals, and competitions. The program also offers a summer training camp and open classes.

Liza's School of Rhythmic Gymnastics offers programs for ages 4 and up, from beginner to competitive levels. The Beginners (Level 1) program is for ages 4–6, and the Beginners PRO (Level 1) group is for girls ages 7–10. The Pre-Team (Level 2) program is for girls ages 5.5–8 and is by invitation only, with Pre-Team gymnasts participating in 3–5 competitions per year in the Xcel Bronze/Silver category. The Xcel program is for gymnasts ages 8–14, with athletes taking part in 3–5 competitions per season from November to May, and a non-competitive or reduced training option is available in this program. The Levels 3–10 program is for athletes 7 years old and up, is invitation-only, follows the USA Gymnastics Development Program, and includes competition at local, regional, and national levels. Girls in the Beginners group perform at semi-annual showcases and take part in local invitationals in the Xcel Copper category, and girls in the Beginners PRO group perform at semi-annual showcases.

Gymnastics classes at Liza's School of Rhythmic Gymnastics develop physical fitness, coordination, and flexibility. The program states that working on gross motor skills supports brain development and the formation of new neural connections, and that children develop skills including self-organization, discipline, teamwork, quick decision-making, goal-setting and perseverance, stress resilience, endurance, and emotional intelligence. The mission of the program is stated as “Empowering girls through the beauty and discipline of Rhythmic Gymnastics.”

The program is led by Liza Kostina (Coach Liza), a professional rhythmic gymnastics coach, Master of Sport, and former athlete with 15 years of experience. She trained at the Olympic Training Center in Moscow and was a winner and medalist in numerous competitions. In her coaching, she relies on personal experience and on scientific knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics to help athletes achieve strong results safely and effectively.
