Redwood NJB is a basketball program that includes evaluations, try-outs, practices, games, and playoffs. Players take part in regular practices and scheduled games, with most games on Sundays and some on Saturdays. For first and second grade players, there is a rookie developmental league, and for 3rd through 8th grade there are several divisions, including an All Net division with tryouts for those seeking a more competitive experience.

Redwood NJB has been a service to the community for 26 years. The program’s stated mission is to be a competitive program with emphasis on good sportsmanship, scholastic achievement, and skills development, and it states that everyone wins playing in NJB. The chapter competes locally against 14 other chapters in Northern California, and qualifying teams can compete in Southern California for a National Title. Boys Divisional and All-Net evaluations (combined) are scheduled on Saturday, October 25th at Woodside High School with Division 3 (3rd and 4th Grade Boys) from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Division 2 (5th and 6th Grade Boys) from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Division 1 (7th and 8th Grade Boys) from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Makeup evaluations are scheduled on Tuesday, October 28th at Sequoia High School for all divisions (Division 1, 2, 3 All/Boys) from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Rookies and girls do not need to attend evaluations, and Rookies (1st and 2nd Grade) and girls are not subject to chapter boundaries. Registration is only open to players who have a confirmed spot on an existing team, and players grandfathered in from a sibling are allowed to play in Redwood NJB. NJB has set schedules for games and practices, a regular season, playoffs, and the opportunity to compete against multiple divisions throughout Silicon Valley.
All head coaches must register, and the coaches fee covers the background check and printing of cards. Cards will not be required until December, but coach registration needs to be completed before Friday, November 15.
