YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake offers hiking, canoeing, archery, mountain biking, climbing, and a lake-top inflatable obstacle course. Campers spend time paddling on the lake, watching sunsets, creating art, and roasting marshmallows by the campfire, along with songs, chants, and dance parties. The program includes day camps, an Explorers mini camp for first-time campers, traditional camps, teen expedition and leadership programs, family camp, and Tumbleson Day Camp.
• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Sessions run in 2026 from June 7–12, June 14–19, June 21–26, June 28–July 1, July 5–10, July 12–17, July 19–24, July 26–31, and August 2–7, with additional Open House and TumbleFun Days offered.
• Price: $10/person for TumbleFun Days on June 13 and July 11 (registration required)
YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake includes TumbleFun Days at 9,000 feet that feature hiking, canoeing, archery, an inflatable obstacle course, and a BBQ lunch. Campers are taught survival skills, leave no trace principles, and nature education, and some adventure camps take campers through rugged wilderness. Leadership and counselor-in-training programs give teens a chance to guide others.
YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake is owned and operated by the YMCA of Northern Colorado, a nonprofit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake operates under a special use permit from the USDA Forest Service, Pike and San Isabel National Forests, Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands. YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake is an equal opportunity service provider and employer. One in three members and program participants with the YMCA of Northern Colorado receive financial assistance to access Y programs.
The YMCA opened America’s first known summer camp program in the 1880s, and for nearly 140 years the Y has made summer special for hundreds of thousands of young people. YMCAs in Northern Colorado have served communities for a century, and the YMCA has been listening and responding to communities’ needs for more than 170 years. Registration is open for Camp Tumbleson Lake 2026.
