About
Adventure Camp Boulder offers a one-week Adventure summer camp where campers take part in mountain biking, biking, rock climbing, climbing a local crag, hiking a trail, hiking, paddling a stand-up paddleboard, kayaking, and canoeing. Every day features a different activity, with a sample weekly schedule of Monday climbing, Tuesday hiking, Wednesday kayaking, Thursday biking, and Friday canoeing.

Instructors are all 18 and older, described as insatiable outdoors experts with impeccable credentials and serious safety and skills training. The program groups campers by grade range, with 2nd–4th graders concentrating on getting comfortable with new activities and 5th–7th graders focusing on teamwork, mentorship, and deepening technical competence. Programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 through 17 across Avid4 Adventure offerings.
Parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily, and Avid4 Adventure provides transportation for campers to recreation areas for the adventure sport at hand before returning to the meeting place for afternoon pick up. Campers learn about flora and fauna, Leave No Trace principles, and explore their connection with fellow campers through teambuilding activities. Every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong, and Avid4 Adventure states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe but does not “pack them up in bubble wrap,” instead giving them knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks.
Adventure Camp Boulder is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if Avid4 Adventure does not meet these promises, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. The organization uses professional-caliber equipment for mountain biking, kayaking, and climbing, and campers can bring their own bikes or borrow from a fleet that accommodates campers of any size.
