Cañon City Blitz Soccer is a nonprofit organization that has offered competitive youth soccer programs since 1986. The program is available to any local youth and offers teams from Under-11 to Under-19 age groups, depending on the number of players registered. Teams travel primarily along the Front Range of Colorado, with occasional games as far as Steamboat Springs, Colorado, or Cheyenne, Wyoming. Blitz Soccer coaches and team managers are volunteers with a passion for soccer and teaching youth, and teams typically stay together for several years as players grow together and build lasting bonds of friendship. The program focuses on developing well-rounded athletes who excel both on and off the field and is operated by the Cañon City Youth Soccer Association (CCYSA), a nonprofit led by a volunteer Board of Directors.

Cañon City Blitz Soccer is Fremont County’s premier youth soccer club and serves youth from Cañon City, Florence, and Penrose. The Blitz Soccer program states that it bridges the gap between the Cañon City recreational youth soccer program and the competitive demands of high school soccer and beyond. CCYSA is a member of the Colorado Soccer Association, which is governed by US Youth Soccer.

The Cañon City Blitz Soccer logo was redesigned in 2022 as a modern, simple graphic with symbolism tied to the community. The colors of the shield are black, white, and gold, recalling the region’s gold mining history. Two concentric “C’s” in the center of the emblem are pierced by a lightning bolt, and “blitz” means “lightning” in the German language and represents the energetic fighting spirit of the club. Three jagged peaks across the top of the shield are emblematic of the hogback rock formations where the historic downtown of Cañon City meets the mountains. The three vertical gold stripes in the logo stand for the three largest communities in Fremont County that make up the Blitz community: Cañon City, Florence, and Penrose.
