Camp Blue Sky - 2-Week Overnight Camp (5th–6th Grade) includes activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking, paddling, hiking, archery, ziplining, a challenge course, Morning Clubs, and evening activities like skits and games. Campers take part in an extended ziplining adventure at Denver Adventures, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding on Jackson Pond, and a three day, two night backpacking trip in the Colorado wilderness that includes reading maps, pitching tents, hanging bear bags, cooking meals, and an attempt to summit Mt. Judge. The program also features mentorship opportunities at Windy Peak, including an exclusive visit for two-week 5th graders to spend time with the oldest campers, chat with teen leaders and Camp Leadership, and participate in a Windy Peak mentorship experience.

The sample daily schedule includes optional Morning Clubs from 6:45–7:30 AM, flag raising, breakfast, a morning adventure activity block from 9:00–11:45 AM, lunch, a rest and relax period for reading or napping, an afternoon adventure activity block from 2:00–4:45 PM, dinner, an evening activity with skits and games, flag lowering, cabin time for debriefing, cleaning, and showers, preparation for sleep, and lights out at 9:00 PM. On the challenge course, campers traverse suspended cables with a partner, participate in trust falls, and navigate a giant spider’s web, with a focus on teamwork, communication skills, and problem solving. On the archery range, campers build strength and marksmanship skills, and on the ziplines they traverse the canopies, including time on what are described as the longest ziplines in Colorado.
Campers use professional-caliber equipment and are transported to authentic local recreation areas, including Denver Adventures for ziplines and Windy Peak campus for mentorship experiences. Water-based activities include kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, running across boat bows, trying handstands on paddleboards, and investigating plant life on nearby trails while learning local history. Programs at this organization evolve as campers grow from age 3 through 17, and this specific session is designed just for 5th and 6th graders with more chances to reflect, grow, and try new things.
Campers learn climbing techniques and safety protocols from experienced lead climbing instructors and are accompanied by an experienced lead mountain bike instructor for biking activities. Instructors are all 18 and older and receive serious safety and skills training.
