Summer Camp at Golden History Museum & Park is a day camp with unique themes for ages 6–8 and 9–12, and camp themes repeat throughout the summer. The camp uses a flexible half-day format, and most families create full-day schedules by selecting both a morning and afternoon theme. There is an average ratio of one teacher for every 12 campers, and campers are supervised at all times by museum staff. Summer Camp at Golden History Museum & Park is described as wildly popular for families in Golden, Arvada, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, and the metro-Denver area, and many options fill during the members-only registration period. Golden History Museum & Park accepts a limited number of Volunteer Junior Summer Camp Aides each summer, who must be at least 13 years old, commit to at least two weeks, and may choose half-day or full-day schedules, with volunteer hours running Monday–Friday from June 1–July 31, 2026. The program uses ACTIVE Class & Camp Manager software for summer registration, ACTIVE Refund is an optional insurance program offered by ACTIVE and not by Golden History Museum & Park, and there is no fee for joining the camp waitlist.
