Expedition Multi-Sport Colorado – 5th–6th Grade is a weeklong multi-sport expedition camp where campers spend the week camping, biking the park’s extensive trails, mountain biking, standup paddleboarding, hiking, white water rafting, and taking part in teambuilding. Campers camp under the stars, set up a campsite that serves as their home base for the week, cook their own meals on camp stoves, and sleep in basecamp tents. Avid4 Adventure provides professional-caliber, top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, and transportation to and from recreation areas is provided.

A sample daily schedule includes a 7:00 AM rise and shine, Morning Circle at 7:15 AM, breakfast at 7:30 AM, Self & Group Care at 8:30 AM, a first adventure starting at 9:00 AM, lunch at noon, a second adventure or continuation of the first at 1:00 PM, hang out and bond time at 5:00 PM, Evening Circle at 5:45 PM, dinner at 6:00 PM, an evening activity at 7:00 PM, and tent time/bedtime at 9:00 PM. The program’s Difficulty Rating is 1 – Entry Level Adventure, and its Wilderness Rating is 1 – Improved Site Camping, with access to portable or pit toilets without flush capabilities and no access to showers or running water; all water is brought to the site filtered for drinking, hand washing, and food preparation. Campers practice interpersonal skills like communication, problem solving, and teamwork, and the program emphasizes teaching Leave No Trace principles.

Avid4 Instructors are all 18 and older with safety and skills training and are described as insatiable outdoors experts with extensive experience in youth development, outdoor education, and operations. Groups are limited to no more than 13 campers with 2 staff members. The program is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which offers a free next camp if promises are not met, and programs evolve with campers from age 3 through their first summer job.
