FIRE Football Camp is a youth football camp that includes a youth full-contact football camp, tackling clinics, and live drills, stations, and simulations. The program follows a coaching philosophy that focuses on fundamental technique explanation, proper technique application, detailed technique reinforcement, and live drills, stations, and simulations.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: 2026 FIRE Camp Date TBD; Tackling Clinic Date & Time TBD (multiple sessions listed as Date & Time TBD)
• Price: Team discounts: Bring 5 or more players from the same team, get a 25% discount on all players attending. Sibling discounts: Any sibling of an enrolled player will receive a 50% discount for that camp or clinic. Discounts cannot be combined.
FIRE Football Camp is led by Drew Millburn and Lucas Thorp. The camp is in its 17th year and was established in 2010. Coach Millburn and Coach Thorp attend several annual safety and professional development courses, seminars, and clinics.
The FIRE Football philosophy is summarized as: TEACH, PRACTICE, REINFORCE, with an approach that includes not just telling but teaching, explaining the “why’s,” instructing the fundamentals, improving technique, providing honest, easy-to-understand feedback, displaying a contagious love of the game, and being a role model.
The program lists several features, including safe, fun, and interactive learning, an 8-to-1 player to coach ratio, hydration and acclimation breaks, a Certified Athletic Trainer on-site, and available team and sibling discounts. FIRE Football Camp is a member of the CHSAA Coaching Association.
Staff credentials include: Certified Player Safety Coach (USA Football), Certified Tackle Football Instructor (USA Football), High School Heads Up Football Instructor (NFHS), Level 1 Accredited Interscholastic Coach (NFHS), Level 2 Certified Interscholastic Coach (NFHS), Certified Double-Goal Coach (Positive Coaching Alliance), 2025 NFHS Concussion Certification, 2025 NFHS Student Mental Health & Suicide Prevention, 2025 NFHS Heat Illness Prevention, 2025 C.D.C. Concussion Certification, 2025 Certification in Pediatric CPR & First Aid, and 2025 USA Football Tackle Certification.
