Headfirst Summer Camps

Headfirst Summer Camps offers programs including Jr. Day Camp, Day Camp, Innovators, Inc, Sprouting Scientists, Multi-Sport Camp, D.C. United Summer Camps, and Nationals Baseball Camps. The program describes its approach as “Spot • Create • Celebrate” and focuses on thoughtfully designed experiences that meet kids in their interests. Daily swim or water play is included at most locations, and the camps are described as “The Best Summer Camps in the Washington, DC Area” and “Where confidence grows by design — one Headfirst Moment at a time.”

For 30 years, Headfirst Summer Camps has created joyful, intentionally designed experiences that help children grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence. Its mission states that through purposeful play, hands-on discovery, and caring guidance, campers feel known, supported, and excited to try what’s next. Headfirst Summer Camps partners with campuses across DC, Maryland, and Virginia, including St. Albans School & National Cathedral School, Mater Dei School, Flint Hill School, and St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School.

Parent feedback includes a Junior Day Camp parent who shared that their daughter wakes up excited to go to camp, has made friends, tried new things, and “comes home grinning from ear to ear.” A Multi-Sport Camp parent reported that their daughter was “absolutely thrilled with the activities and how fun and engaging the counselors and fellow campers are,” and chose to extend her time at camp. Another parent, with children in Junior Day and Innovators, Inc., described their family as four-time returning campers and noted being consistently impressed by the creativity behind the camp themes and the care and attention given to each child.
