Headfirst Honor Roll Camps are premier two-day showcase experiences designed for academically-driven athletes aspiring to play at the college level and focus exclusively on high-academic showcase camps. The camps are described as the longest-running, best attended and most popular academic showcase camps for baseball and softball in the country, and annually host over 2,000 student-athletes from across the United States and close to 300 college coaches. Events are carefully curated to bring a high concentration of academic college programs to a single facility for personal connection and 360-degree player exposure, including metrics, video, showcase reps, and live gameplay, with guaranteed access to college coaches through a player-to-coach ratio of less than 4:1. Players get 3.5 times more gameplay, with more playing time, reps, and on-field action than other academic showcases, and in two days families gain more focused recruiting value than in months of travel and effort at other events and tournaments.

Headfirst was founded in 1996 by Brendan Sullivan, whose journey took him from Washington, DC to Stanford University and then into the San Diego Padres minor league system via the Major League Baseball draft, before he returned to DC in the fall of 1996. Since 1996, Headfirst has helped student-athletes succeed by guiding them to the right fit at high-academic colleges, using athletics as the key to the next level, and for more than 25 years has continued this work. His mission was simple then and remains the same today: Inspire the personal best in kids and young adults. Today, 35 full-time and 700 annual seasonal team members continue to push Brendan’s vision, and Headfirst staff have been high-academic student athletes themselves.

Headfirst is the official camp partner of the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Washington Nationals and New York Yankees, as well as D.C. United and the Atlanta Falcons. Headfirst has also grown into a national organization that creates programs that inspire children and young adults to courageously engage with the world, celebrate the challenges that come with trying hard things and meet every opportunity and every setback with persistence, patience and a positive attitude. Headfirst Summer Camps is described as the largest and most popular provider of summer camps in the DC Metro area, offering programming for children aged 3–13 at camps in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
