DC Way Soccer Programs offers a wide range of soccer and sports activities, including Summer Camp, Art & Soccer Summer Camp, Exploration Summer Camp, World Cup Summer Camp, Brazilian Way Summer Camp, Spring Break Camp, One Day Camp, and Art & Soccer Day Camp. The program also runs Capitol Hill Winter League, Futsal Skills Clinics, Kids Academy, Adult Skills Clinics, After-School Programs (including an After-School Program at Sherwood Rec), Goalkeeping School, Weekly Skills Clinics, Private Lessons, and options for a Soccer Birthday Party.

DC Way Soccer Programs was founded in 2013 and notes more than a decade of experience sharing their love of sports with children, including celebrating a 10-year anniversary with DC Way Soccer. The leadership team includes Founder & Program Director Denis Chekuristov, Executive Director Roman Kilishek, Marketing Manager Melis Bayraktaroglu, and Manager of Operations Russ Guliyev. Denis Chekuristov holds a National Soccer Coaching License for ages 8–12 and a Coerver Coaching Youth Diploma, while Melis Bayraktaroglu has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Organizational Sciences from The George Washington University School of Business, and Roman Kilishek has an MBA from George Mason University.
DC Way’s stated mission is to help develop the game of soccer in the DC area and bring opportunities for all children to play and enjoy soccer, to develop bright young athletes, and to help children be active and play, all at an affordable cost. DC Way describes itself as a Capitol Hill-based recreational soccer club and a community-enriching youth sports club, and refers to a vibrant community and DC Way family; Marketing Manager Melis Bayraktaroglu also volunteers in efforts to combat chronic homelessness and participates in various community initiatives.
DC Way is an award-winning recreational soccer club and has won two categories in the Best of D.C. issue: “Best Sports Coach” and “Best Summer Camp.” DC Way was recognized as Best Sports Coach by Washington City Paper in both 2016 and 2017 for Head Coach Denis, and as Best Soccer Camp in Washington, DC by the Washington City Paper Reader’s Poll in 2017. The club notes a culture of excellence with emphasis on sportsmanship and putting players first, and a dynamic training curriculum with engaging drills, fun games, and life lessons, with the head coach personally considering age, ability, and number of players in each session.
Program features include a pressure-free environment that covers physical, mental, social-emotional, and communication development, and programs that run all year round on weekdays and weekends. The Art & Soccer Summer Camp celebrates the FIFA World Cup through art and soccer with a different country each week, while the Exploration Summer Camp includes exploring Capitol Hill, discovering historic landmarks, and learning real stories about Washington, DC. The World Cup Summer Camp features a different country theme each week and prepares for the summer 2026 World Cup year, and the Brazilian Way Summer Camp offers authentic coaching from experienced Brazilian coaches with a focus on Brazilian soccer style. Spring Break Camp offers five unique camp options across DC, the Capitol Hill Winter League is an indoor futsal league in a fast-paced, small-sided format, Futsal Skills Clinics are offered for preschool through 2nd grade, Kids Academy includes both soccer and multi-sport sessions, the After-School Program at Sherwood Rec includes sports, art, and smart/board games, and Goalkeeping School focuses on agility, strategy, and leadership for goalkeepers. DC Way states a vision to become the preliminary soccer education company in the DC area and to be the best community-enriching youth sports club.
