Urban Adventure Squad offers neighborhood-based, hands-on learning programs that focus on the outdoors and use the city as a classroom. The program includes cross-curricular, standards-aligned activities related to science, history, math, art, engineering, and writing. It also offers full-day programs during out-of-school time on professional development days, federal holidays, and school breaks, as well as special programs for pre-teens, retirees, and children in pre-K, and activities for partners, spouses, and children during conferences, family reunions, and birthday adventures.

Urban Adventure Squad is a Washington, D.C.-based 501(c)(3) non-profit education organization that supports schools and communities with neighborhood-based, hands-on outdoor learning programs and uses the city as a classroom. It partners with schools, other non-profit organizations, and community groups to connect students to their neighborhoods with cross-curricular, standards-aligned activities and to train teachers in outdoor learning. The organization can receive donations under the names Urban Learning and Teaching Center and Urban Adventure Squad and distributes a newsletter about twice a month, or about 1–2 times per month. It is recognized as a 2025 “trusted and critical small nonprofit in the Greater Washington region” by SpurLocal (formerly Catalogue for Philanthropy).
